Lubie Geter was last seen at the Stewart-Lakewood Shopping Center on GA-6, selling "Zep Gel" car deodorizers outside "Big Star Food Store," after having been left there by his brother.  He had been seen getting into a red pickup, a white pickup, then a white and black Cutlass.  A woman later testified that she saw him getting into a car with Wayne Williams in front of the Sears at the mall.

Lubie Geter's body was found by a dog who was seen by land owner destroying rabbit traps in a wooded side of Vandiver Road, near Enon Rd.

The body was missing all his clothes except white jockey shorts.  His blue Levi's & brown belt were found 3/4 mile away in a brown bag three feet deep in a creek.  His blue shirt and shoes were found 300 yards away.  The body was mutilated by animals.  His cause of death was asphyxiation by manual strangulation.

The state called Geter's a "pattern case" in the conviction of Williams.

The funeral was held Monday, Feb. 9, 1981 at 1 p.m. at Second Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 230 Stevall St, S.E., with Rev. G.W.
