1. Edward Hope Smith

Picture
14 year old Edward Hope "Teddy" Smith (5'4", 125lbs) lived in the Kimberly Court housing projects at 4191 Cape St.  Terry Pue once lived in this very apartment.  Lee Gooch lived next door.

Teddy attended Therrell High.

Smith was last seen parting with his girlfriend at Campbellton & Fairburn after leaving the Greenbriar Skating Rink (owned by Eddie Eugene and later named Jelly Beans) at 3850 Stone Road SW.
2430 Saturday 21 July 1979

Some claimed that Smith and Evans were at a "pot party" on County Line Road.

The bodies of Edward Hope Smith & (probably) Alfred Evans were found in a wooded area across the street from 1881 (1700 block?) Niskey Lake Rd SW by an old woman looking for cans.  Smith frequented the house at this address to "hang out" and practice karate.  Edward's cause of death was a .22 gunshot to his upper back. He was found in a black jersey with red letters.  His socks and leather sun visor were missing.  Smith's body was ID'd in a month.  28 July 1979

Edward Hope Smith's case was not cleared by Wayne Williams' arrest.
