7. Eric Middlebrooks

14 year old Eric Antonio Middlebrooks (4'10", 88lbs) moved to 345 Howell Dr., No. H-4 with foster parents Robert & Evelyn Miller in spring 1980. His older half-brother was officer Kerry Middlebrooks. His biological mother, Charlene Middlebrooks, who gave him up at 4 months of age, lived in North Carolina and did not show up for his funeral. He never knew his biological father. A Mrs. Lucille Brown was also listed as his mother.
Eric attended Franklin D. Roosevelt High. He sometimes swam at the neighborhood boys' club.
He was last seen answering the phone at home and hurrying off on his bike with a hammer to fix his bike. He had first borrowed a key from his foster mother to open the house to get the tool. A few weeks earlier, he had testified against 3 juveniles in a robbery case.
